History

Beneath blues skies an historic gem in the crown of Beaufort's Sea Islands beckons you to step into a bygone era. Pick Pocket Plantation is a mid-19th century plantation meticulously restored. Furnished with period antiques and surrounded by classic farm structures Pick Pocket takes one back to simpler times. Open for tours Monday through Saturday visitors will be taken through the house by the Victorian Ladies, Miss Millie and Miss Kim, in period costume and then stroll the plantation grounds to view the many outbuildings.

Farmer's Market

The Farmer's Market takes place every Tuesday at Pick Pocket Plantation
from 2-7.
The Farmer's Market sports antique tractors,
vintage cars,
homemade apple butter and sugar cane syrup
(made by Mr. Keith himself on the plantation),
and, of course, locally grown produce!
You can also shop for a variety of colorful plants,
homemade soaps,
delicacies like cast iron cooked breads with several delectable toppings,
homemade breads and granolas,
and scented soy candles in recycled bottles.
For the history lovers a guided tour of the mid-19th century Victorian farmhouse is a treat with tour guides Millie
and Kim.
For the children, pony rides and face painting are a fun treat.
Be sure to join us next Tuesday for locally grown fruits and veggies, baked delicacies, home-made candles and soaps, and an old-fashioned good time!
